Emergency Management
Hazard Mitigation Plan Update

Pima County is in the process of updating the 2012 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. Every 5 years, the Town of Sahuarita is required to work with the jurisdictions in Pima County to update the plan for FEMA with assistance from the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs. The plan  is used to identify risks and vulnerabilities associated with potential disasters and to develop long-term strategies for mitigating these risks in order to protect Sahuarita and its citizens.

Public comment on the current plan is now being accepted. To review the current plan and comment, go to the Mitigation Planning section of the Pima County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security webpage.  Before the end of 2016, the final draft of the update will be posted for comment prior to submission to FEMA for approval.

Updated information will be posted on the Pima County website throughout the process.  Please check for updates.
