The Memorial Tree Program offers friends and families the opportunity to remember their loved one while enhancing the beauty of Sahuarita. By participating in this program, donors will help designate a memorial tree planting in honor of their loved one and support the beautification of our parks.
Contact the Parks and Facilities Manager to discuss the desire to plant a Memorial Tree. The individual will purchase a mutually agreed upon tree from the approved tree list and indicate which park they would like the planting to occur. The Parks Facilities Manager will work with the individual to determine the best location to plant the tree in the selected park. If desired, the individual may help plant the tree.
Yes. Staff will work with the individual to help shape a memorial ceremony.
To keep the parks free of clutter and reduce vandalism, we do not allow the placement of plaques or markers near the Memorial Tree. At the request of the individual, we list the name of the loved one on our website with the location and a photo of the tree.
Yes. The individual is responsible for making payment directly to the nursery for the purchase of the tree.
There is a $60 planting and maintenance fee paid directly to the Town of Sahuarita Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department by calling 520-822-8896 or by completing the Memorial Tree form online at www.sahuaritaaz.gov/parksandrec.
The Town typically works with Civano Growers - Wholesale Plant Nursery because they are the only commercial grade seller in the area. However, trees can be purchased from any plant nursery that sells commercial grade trees.
Deliver trees to Dylan Pruitt, Anamax Park, 17501 S. Camino de las Quintas, Sahuarita, AZ 85629.
