The Mayor and Council adopted the official results of the August 2, 2022 Primary election at their regular meeting on August 22, 2022.  View the official canvass.

The Town of Sahuarita will hold a Primary Election on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, for the purpose of electing three (3) Council Members to serve 4-year terms and one (1) Council Member to serve a 2-year term. A General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, to fill any Council Member seats that remain unfilled after the Primary Election. To be elected at the Primary Election, a candidate must receive a majority, as defined by law, of all the votes cast for Council Member.

These elections will be conducted as hybrid elections. Voters may vote at any Vote Center on Election Day; vote early in person; request a ballot by mail, or request to be placed on the Active Early Voter List (AEVL) to receive mail ballots for all elections.

Voters who are not registered as a member of one of the recognized political parties participating in the primary election, and who are on the AEVL will not automatically receive a ballot for the Town of Sahuarita, August 2, 2022 Primary Election. Voters who are not affiliated with a  recognized political party have the option of requesting a political party ballot of their choice or a local ballot listing only the candidates for the Sahuarita Town Council. Requesting a political party ballot for the Primary election will not change a voter’s party affiliation.
