At this time, we are asking that residents needing to do business with the town please courteously do so from home, either by phone, or online. Please visit our Town Services COVID-19 web page. Many town services (including court services) can be done remotely instead of in-person. If you do not find the assistance you need on that page, please give us a call prior to coming to town hall, at 520-822-8800 (main line) or 520-344-7150 (courts), so that we may first see if there is a way to assist you without you needing to visit town hall. We thank you for your kindness and consideration for public health in your community.
The Sahuarita Municipal Court is committed to protecting the rights and welfare of all Sahuarita citizens and all visitors to the courthouse.
Effective April 30, 2022, and in line with Arizona Supreme Court Administrative Order 2022-34 and Pima County Superior Court Administrative Order 2022-07, wearing a mask inside of the Sahuarita Municipal Court is recommended but discretionary, unless noted otherwise. Masks are mandatory where social distancing of three feet is not practicable inside of the courthouse.
However, to help minimize the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses, and to safeguard the health of all, please do not visit the courthouse or court offices if you are ill, including but not limited to if you have a COVID-19 diagnosis or symptoms. Instead, contact your attorney or the court to reschedule or make alternative participation arrangements by filing a motion at sahuaritacourt@courts.az.gov or by calling 520-344-7150 and press “3” to speak with court staff.
Please note, if your case is not set for a dispositive hearing, you may be able to participate in your hearing remotely, by telephone, by calling in at your scheduled time for your hearing at 520-445-7965. Members of the public may also call and listen in on the public hearing line but must remain muted. If social distancing requirements are met, non-parties may attend in person as space allows.
The courthouse is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., excluding federal and town holidays. If you have questions or concerns, please contact the Court as above.
The Court appreciates your patience as it continues to provide the timely, fair, and efficient administration of justice under law during this health crisis.

Arizona Proposition 207:
Marijuana Legalization Initiative
Also known as the Smart and Safe Arizona Act, Proposition 207 was a voter initiative that appeared on the November 3, 2020 Arizona general election ballot. Passing with about 60% of the vote, the proposition allowed the legalization, taxation, and recreational use of cannabis for adults 21 and over. Proposition 207 includes a new statute (A.R.S. § 36-2862) that authorizes some people to petition a court for an order that will seal their marijuana-related criminal records The Arizona Supreme Court has adopted petition forms and instructions for people to use for this purpose. These forms should not be filed before the July 12, 2021 effective date.
Please refer to the Prop 207 (azcourts.gov) website for forms and more information regarding prop 207. This page provides resources about the initiative and marijuana conviction expungement process in Arizona.
