A General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. The ballot will include a proposition for qualified electors to cast their vote.
Proposition 469 - A referendum to approve or reject Ordinance No. 2017-121, entitled “AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF SAHUARITA, ARIZONA, CHANGING THE ZONING OF PARCEL NUMBER 303-08-002J, AN APPROXIMATELY 160 ACRE PARCEL OF LAND OWNED BY NEW ERA TUCSON LLC AND LOCATED SOUTH OF PIMA MINE ROAD AND EAST OF I-19, FROM GR-1 (RURAL RESIDENTIAL) TO SP (SPECIFIC PLAN), AND ADOPTING THE “COPPER POINT SPECIFIC PLAN” BY REFERENCE (CASE #SA9-14-00003).”
Ballot arguments must be submited no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2018.
Each “For” or “Against” argument shall not exceed 300 words in length and shall contain the sworn statement from the person sponsoring the argument. Any persons wishing to submit an argument “For” or “Against” any proposition may do so by submitting it electronically through the ballot argument portal available on the Town’s web site. If the argument is sponsored by an organization, it shall contain the sworn statement of two executive officers of the organization; or if sponsored by a political committee, it shall contain the sworn statement of the committee’s chairman or treasurer. The person or persons signing the argument shall also identify themselves by giving their residence or post office address and a telephone number, which information shall not appear in the Publicity Pamphlet.
Payment, in the amount of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00), shall be deposited with the Town to offset a portion of cost of paper and printing the argument and must be received before the argument can be officially received as filed. Payment may be mailed with a brief explanation to:
