The Town hosts an annual Arbor Day celebration to recognize the importance of trees and incorporates planting additional trees in the park.

The Arbor Day Foundation named the Town of Sahuarita Tree City USA for its commitment to effective urban forest management. Sahuarita’s trees are an important natural resource that have a positive effect on the environment, because they reduce erosion, produce oxygen, and provide habitat for wildlife.
The Tree City USA program is sponsored by the National Arbor Day Foundation in cooperation with the National Association of State Foresters and the USDA Forest Service.
