Town of Sahuarita hosts a lunchtime seminar with the southern Arizona branch of Women Leading Govt.


On March 10, 2020, the Town of Sahuarita hosted the quarterly lunchtime seminar of the southern Arizona branch of Women Leading Government (WLG). WLG is an organization dedicated to helping women succeed in public service by enhancing career-building models that develop leadership skills and by networking professional women in government. WLG welcomes all people dedicated to public service and the development of women leaders.

The March lunch event was held at the Desert Diamond Casino in Sahuarita. Over 100 people registered for this event which included opening remarks from the Town’s own Mayor Tom Murphy and Vice Mayor Kara Egbert. The keynote speaker was Kathleen Pickrel, author of “It is What it is… Now What?!: A Guide for Getting From Where You are to WHO You Want to be”. For over 13 years, Kathleen Pickrel has worked with people both on an individual level and within a corporate structure, providing support, helping to clarify goals and establishing a framework to ultimately achieve those goals with her company, Choose Congruency.

Attendees at the event represented over 40 public agencies and jurisdictions ranging from the Town of Oro Valley, Tubac Fire District, Sierra Vista, PAG/RTA, the Office of the Inspector General, Nogales Police Department, City of Douglas and Cochise County to name a few.
