All of these projects will be completed using TRMSS which is a tire rubber modified asphalt emulsion surface treatment, that looks like and gets applied like a slurry seal but this pavement treatment contains more aggregate and has a higher rubber content than a traditional slurry seal.  As such it  provides better wear and weather resistance.

This pavement treatment is also “greener” than the traditional alternative as using TRMSS diverts approximately 80 tires per lane mile from the landfill. These projects total just under 68 lane miles of road (or 5440 tires not going to the landfill).
