Infrastructure: Connecting Our Community

Have you been wondering about the status of the Quail Crossing Blvd. extension? We know you probably have, so here's an update:

The timeline for construction of Quail Crossing Blvd. Extension is moving right along. In March, the final plans were submitted. In June, we advertised for bids. In August, we will award the contract, and construction is slated to start in September. Construction is expected to be completed by early 2023.

The project will connect Quail Crossing Blvd., near the Continental/Old Nogales Hwy intersection, with the businesses and amenities on the west side of the Santa Cruz River.

Did you know that the project will also be part of the Pima County Flood Control ALERT system? This is a network of real-time sensors that provide information to county personnel and other agencies about weather conditions affecting our regional watersheds.

The recent monsoon storms that have brought so much destruction with them are indicators that preparing our infrastructure and emergency response systems for management of flood events is crucial.

This milestone project will literally bring us closer together, giving residents easy access to the communities, businesses and amenities divided by the riverbed.
