Erik Dahl was appointed to the Town Council in 2019. He and his family moved to Sahuarita in 2009 from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Dahl has been in law enforcement for over 25 years, most of that time spent working at departments in Wisconsin in patrol and supervisory capacities before moving to Arizona. After attending the Tucson Police academy and spending over a year as an officer at the Tucson Police Department, he became the Criminal Investigations Supervisor for the Arizona Department of Corrections where he continues to supervise an office of detectives who investigate crimes occurring within the state prison system.
Dahl has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Western Technical College in Wisconsin. He is currently attending the University of Arizona pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration of Justice.
Outside of work, Dahl and his wife, an elementary music teacher in Sahuarita, founded the AZ Junior Wildcats Youth Inline Hockey Club. Dahl has served as the President of that non-profit organization since it was created in 2014, providing opportunities for hundreds of Tucson area kids to play inline hockey.
Council Member Dahl got involved in the Town Council to have a part in guiding the town’s growth, particularly opportunities to enhance commercial development within the town. He also wants to work to find ways to bring residents from the different areas of the town together into a unified vision of Sahuarita as the town continues to grow and evolve, while maintaining the “small town” feel that many of our residents came to Sahuarita seeking.
