Registration is live for Club S.P.I.K.E. (Sahuarita Parks Inspires Kids' Enrichment)! The new after-school program is designed for children ages 5-12 and is hosted by Sahuarita Parks & Rec at La Villita Community Center on Mondays - Fridays following the scheduled school release.
The program is $70/week for a total of 21 hours of care, and $15/day for up to 4 hours of care. Registration does not require any long-term commitment, and can be found on sahuaritaparksandrec.org by clicking on the catalog tab. Each day and week is set up as a separate entry.
“We hear from parents all the time that they want more afternoon programming for kids,” said Devin Stalder, Director of Parks & Recreation. “Affordable activities that support a healthy lifestyle are in high demand nationwide, and we are proud to offer Club S.P.I.K.E. to our busy families who need the resource.”
Club S.P.I.K.E. will follow the Sahuarita Unified School District Calendar, including school breaks, early release days, and half days. If there is no school, there is no Club S.P.I.K.E.
The current schedule is:
Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays: 2:00 - 6:30 PM
Early Release Wednesdays: 1:00 - 6:30 PM
Half Days: 12:00 - 6:30 PM
“Whether you’re finishing up your workday or just looking for a way to keep your kids physically active and off their devices, Club S.P.I.K.E. is a great option,” said Stalder. “We hope to see this program grow.”
Transportation from the schools to La Villita Community Center is not provided at this time.
