After nearly three years of perseverance through challenges like equipment, permitting, and construction delays, the much-anticipated Anamax Park Splashpad will open its gates to the public on May 22, 2025. The new community water feature will be operational from dawn to dusk from May through October.
“This splashpad represents not just a fun, family-friendly addition to our community but also stands as a testament to the spirit of collaboration and commitment we embody in Sahuarita,” said Mayor Tom Murphy. “We are grateful for the patience and enthusiasm of our residents, who have supported this project every step of the way.”
This milestone marks the culmination of efforts that began with a sewer line extension and involved tireless dedication from project partners: A5 Design and Construction, Maximum Splash, Altitude Recreation, Water Odyssey, Fountain People, and AquaWorx.
The Anamax Park Splashpad is designed as a safe and engaging recreational space for children and families. The feature will undergo twice-daily water quality testing to ensure sanitation. While these dates may be adjusted during the initial months of operation as processes are refined, the town is committed to maintaining a high standard of safety.
“As our first public water feature, this splashpad is a significant step for Sahuarita,” said Dylan Pruitt, Parks and Facilities Manager. “We’re proud of the collaborative effort it took to make this happen and excited to see the community enjoy this space.”
To ensure everyone’s safety, visitors are asked to follow the posted rules, which include:
- Children must have adult supervision at all times.
- Proper swim attire is required; swim diapers are mandatory for children under 4
- No food, drinks, or glass objects in the splashpad area
- Footwear is recommended, but no street shoes are allowed
- The splashpad must be vacated at the first sign of thunder or lightning
For full safety and usage guidelines, park visitors should refer to the signage posted on site. The Town of Sahuarita reserves the right to close the splashpad at any time for maintenance, health, or sanitation concerns.
