On June 13, 2025, at approximately 6:17 AM, Sahuarita officers were dispatched to the area of East Camino Rancho Cielo and Camino Rancho Solano, for a report of a suspicious item. 

Dispatch received a call from a male who stated he saw an object in the street and moved it to the sidewalk. The male later realized the object was a possible pipe bomb. Upon arrival, officers located a cylinder-shaped device that was made of or wrapped in tape with what appeared to be a fuse sticking out of it. 

At approximately 6:37 AM, the SPD requested the assistance of the Pima Regional Bomb Squad (PRBS). A certified bomb technician with PRBS arrived at 7:24 AM. Other members of PRBS arrived, and at approximately 9:00 AM, the device was secured. 

The PRBS utilized technology to confirm that the device was likely an explosive device.
