Provide and maintain safe and efficient public infrastructure systems
 including the transportation network, wastewater system and drainage ways
 for the Sahuarita community.

The Town of Sahuarita Department of Public Works has a capable staff responsible for diverse duties, such as engineering, roadways, and the wastewater treatment utility. The department of public works completes plan reviews on engineering related improvements for roadways, drainage systems, traffic signals, and utilities; reviews traffic plans, issues right-of-way permits and private improvement agreements (PIAs), inspects public and privately funded improvement projects, just to name a few responsibilities. Public Works makes sure the roads are properly maintained, safe and free from debris. Future Public Works projects include, road widening, re-striping of roads, pavement surface treatments, drainage improvements and wastewater projects. The Town of Sahuarita Wastewater Treatment and Reclamation Facility (SWTRF) has been designed to meet the wastewater needs of residents in the Sahuarita service area served which is currently the Rancho Sahuarita Master Planned Community.

As the Town continually grows, so does our need for improved streets, roadways and wastewater infrastructure. Public Works has recognized this significant need and is proud of the ongoing and future projects. Please remember to use caution and reduce speed limits in areas under construction. Keep in mind that while some projects may cause a slight inconvenience, the final results will improve the Town of Sahuarita’s traffic flow and safety.
