On September 13, 2024, at approximately 08:25 PM, Sahuarita Police officers responded to the 900 Block of E. Madera Estates for a report of a person who was in cardiac arrest. Upon officers’ arrival, it was learned the victim had passed away after life-saving measures attempted by Santa Rita Fire Department paramedics were unsuccessful.
Officers began an investigation and learned there were suspicious circumstances and that a subject had fled the scene before officers arrived at the residence. Officers requested the assistance of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Air Unit and deputies. The subject who fled was taken into custody shortly after that near the intersection of Madera Highlands Grove and Campbell Ave. SPD detectives and crime scene personnel were advised of the incident and began investigating this case.
Through the investigation, probable cause was established to arrest 33-year-old Sahuarita resident Davis Crowell for First Degree Murder. Mr. Crowell was booked into the Pima County Jail where he is currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
The victim in this case has been identified as 58-year-old Sahuarita resident Paul Baillargeon. Mr. Baillargeon’s next of kin has been notified.
