On October 30, 2024, at approximately 08:05 AM, Sahuarita Police officers were dispatched to Quail Crossing Blvd and Campbell Ave for a report of a serious injury vehicle collision involving a bicyclist. The Santa Rita Fire Department also arrived and transported the bicyclist to a Tucson hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. The driver involved remained at the scene and was not injured.

The initial investigation showed that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Qual Crossing Blvd, and the bicyclist was traveling northbound and crossing Qual Crossing Blvd when the collision occurred. At this time, there are no indications that speed or impairment was a factor in this collision. The bicyclist was wearing a helmet and is still in the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

This incident is still under investigation, and no citations have been issued.
