Sahuarita's centralized solid waste collection program will begin September 1, 2025, in partnership with Waste Connections.
What you need to know
All Sahuarita residences are automatically included in the new centralized waste (trash & recycling) collection service. Home occupants are no longer responsible for arranging the end of the current service, and all carts will be collected by the Town of Sahuarita at no cost to residents.
Transition Timeline
- Aug. 11-29 – New Sahuarita trash & recycling carts will be delivered to all homes. Continue to use old carts on the same service schedule through Aug. 31.
- Aug. 15 – First bill for new service arrives (Sep. - Nov. service dates)
- Aug. 25-29 – Leave all carts on the curb! Following waste collection, do not bring your old carts in; they will be removed from the curbside. If your home is missed in delivery or collection, please wait 72 hours before reporting via this cart delivery & collection concern form.
- Sep. 1 – New service begins on the Sahuarita Waste Collection Zone Schedule.
Next Steps For All Residents
To prepare for this transition, all residents are encouraged to complete the following steps.
- Turn Off Autopay: Disable autopay with your current provider to avoid being charged for the next billing cycle.
- Continue Current Schedule: All old carts will be collected on the current service schedule at no cost to residents.
- Watch for New Bill: The first bill for the new program arrives on Aug. 15 (for service Sept. 1 – Nov. 30)
- Aug. 25-29 Leave carts out: Following waste collection that week, do not bring your old carts in; they will be removed from the curbside. If your home is missed in delivery or collection, please wait 72 hours before reporting via this cart delivery & collection concern form.
- Set up online account: Call Waste Connections Customer Service Line (520)881-4227 to set up online bill pay.
- Review New Service Schedule: Residents will transition to the new service schedule for trash and recycling services beginning the week of Sept. 1
