On April 29, 2024, at approximately 08:53 PM, Officers of the Sahuarita Police Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian on Pima Mine Road east of Interstate 19.
Officers arrived on the scene and began first aid measures until the arrival of Green Valley and Tohono O’odham Fire Departments. The pedestrian was transported to a Tucson area hospital via ambulance for serious injuries. SPD Traffic and Crime Scene specialists were called out to investigate this incident.
The driver involved in the collision remained at the scene. At this point in the investigation there are no indications the driver was impaired, nor does it appear that speed was a factor in the collision. No citations have been issued. The pedestrian who was struck is expected to survive.
