[SAHUARITA, AZ – May 22, 2024] – On May 17, 2024, officers from the Sahuarita Police Department
responded to the 300 block of E. Calle Minerva. Officers discovered a deceased person with obvious signs
of trauma. The victim in this case has been identified as 51-year-old Sahuarita resident Terry Parker. Mr.
Parker’s next of kin have been notified.
Detectives, Crime Scene Specialists, and SPD officers have been investigating this incident and are
continuing to investigate. Douglas Gauf, a 65-year-old Tucson resident, was arrested last night by the SPD
on unrelated drug charges in the City of Tucson. Earlier today, additional investigation revealed probable
cause to arrest Mr. Gauf for homicide. This morning, while Mr. Gauf was waiting to be released from the
Pima County Jail on the drug charges, he was arrested in connection with this homicide. Mr. Gauf has
been charged with First Degree Murder and rebooked into the Pima County Jail.
